What We Believe

The Bible

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as fully and verbally inspired of God, and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are the sole authority in matters of faith and practice.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21

God

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Exodus 15:11; Genesis 1:1,26; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Acts 5:3; Matthew 28:19

Jesus Christ

We believe in the absolute deity and full humanity of Jesus Christ, who was begotten of the Holy Spirit and miraculously born of the virgin Mary.

Matthew 1:18-21; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:1

Holy Spirit

We believe in the person and deity of the Holy Spirit, that He is equal with the Father and the Son, and that He came forth from God to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment, and to regenerate, indwell, sanctify and illuminate believers in Christ.

John 16:7-8; John 14:26; Acts 5:3; John 14:16-17; Matthew 28:19

Man

We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred the wrath of God and brought upon himself physical and spiritual death, and that as a result, all men are born with inherent depravity and at the age of moral responsiblity become sinners by personal choice.

Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3:1-6; Romans 1:20; Romans 5:12; Romans 3:23

The Cross

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who trust in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.

Romans 3:24; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:15; Romans 5:1,8; Hebrews 9:22; Revelation 1:5

The Resurrection

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and in His present intercession there as our High Priest and Advocate.

Luke 24:3-8; Mark 16:5-7; Hebrews 4:14; Hebrews 7:24-25

The Church

We believe in the church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and of which all regenerated people are members. We further believe that the local church is a company of immersed believers associated together and organized for worship, instruction, observance of the ordinances, Christian fellowship and service. We believe that the ordinances of the church are two: (1) baptism, which is immersion in water after belief in Christ as Savior, and (2) the Lord’s Supper which commemorates our Lord’s death until He comes.

Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 11:23-27; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; Hebrews 10:25; Acts 8:36-38

Christ's Return

We believe in that blessed hope, the personal and visible return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the clouds for His bride, the church.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

End Times

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the believers and the unbelievers, the everlasting deliverance of the saved into the presence of God and the everlasting separation from God and the conscious punishment of the unsaved.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Revelation 20:11-15; John 5:28-29; 1 Corinthians 15:52-58
